These healthy wraps and tortillas were created to feel good in the body — not heavy, not bloating, just deeply nourishing and satisfying. I personally live on it as a staple along with my homemade bread, cooked quinoa, buckwheat and oats.
Honestly, they hit the satisfaction spot and allow my whole being to feel nourished and settled. And for me, meal satisfaction matters far more than having a fancy meal. When I feel truly satisfied, I’m not left searching for more food — and my nervous system feels safe and supported.
I grew up eating wraps. They were familiar, comforting, and part of the nourishment my mumma lovingly prepared. But over time, store-bought wraps started leaving me feeling pretty yuck. Heavy. Bloated. Disconnected from my body.
On one hand, I wanted a wrap that brought me back to that sense of nourishment and simplicity. On the other, I didn’t want that uncomfortable, weighed-down feeling afterwards. That’s where these healthy wraps and tortillas came in.
This recipe is gentle, grounding, and adaptable — meeting you where you’re at. If you prefer lower-carb eating, coconut flour works beautifully. If you eat paleo, cassava flour is such a yummy solution. And buckwheat? An all-time wrap flour winner — nourishing, earthy, and deeply satisfying.

Personally, cassava flour wraps have my heart. They’re soft, flexible, and easy on my digestion. This is a recipe I’ve completely fallen in love with. I make it at least once or twice a month—always a double batch. I used to make it even more often, sometimes twice a week, but lately I’ve softened into simplicity.
In this fast-paced world, I want food that lets me slow down, chill, and breathe.
For me, simplicity isn’t about restriction — it’s fundamental to a calm nervous system, a happy, well-functioning body, and clear, grounded thinking. And somehow, when I simplify… I love this recipe even more.
None of that takes away from how fricken amazing these wraps are — especially on my Mexican PARTY nights, which happen very often 🌮✨
PSA: when I find an even simpler way to make these without the rolling phase, I promise I’ll tell you all.
Why These Healthy Wraps and Tortillas Feel So Good in the Body
These wraps aren’t about perfection — they’re about how you feel after eating.
They’re:
Gentle and easy to digest
Made with whole, grounding ingredients
Flexible for different dietary preferences
Deeply satisfying without heaviness
Psyllium husk creates structure and softness without the density that many wraps bring, helping these feel light yet nourishing.
🫓 Gentle, Nourishing Wrap Recipe
Serves 2
(Makes 2 large wraps or 6 small wraps)
Ingredients
6 tbsp (60g cassava flour, 60g buckwheat flour, or 50g coconut flour) + extra for rolling wrap
3-4 tbsp (22-30g) psyllium husks
1 whole egg
½ cup water
Method
Mix all ingredients in a bowl to form a hard dough (do allow 5 minutes for this as psyllium husks take 5 or so minutes to absorb liquid). If it feels to sticky, add a little more husks (up to 4 tbsp or flour). Divide into 2 large or 6 small balls.
Place one ball between two sheets of baking paper. Lightly dust with flour and roll flat.
Heat a dry frying pan over medium–high heat.
Cook for 2–4 minutes until the wrap sets and changes colour. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
Serve warm as a wrap or tortilla.
